The Selection Procedure

The selection process consists of three steps:

Step 1.Decide whether you want to attend a UWC college or participate in a short course.

Then download, complete and submit the relevant applications forms, including as relevant the parental endorsement and teacher recommendations, in advance of the deadline mentioned on the forms.

  • Candidates for Short Courses in the summer of 2010 have until 15 February to submit their application.

Full application pack for Italian scholarship 2010-12

  • Candidates for the Italian Scholarship 2010-12 have until 5 March 2010 to submit their application.

  • Candidates who applied for a UWC college scholarship 2010-12 will be informed in the week of 15 February whether they can proceed to the next stage of the selection.

Step 2. Interviews, group discussion and writing two short essays, assessed by the 'Screening Committee'. This committee is mainly composed of ex-students. The interviews take place in Brussels and last half a day.

  • The assessment day for 2010-12 applicants will be held on 27 February 2010.

Step 3. Candidates retained after Step 2 are subsequently interviewed by an independent 'Selection Committee', which takes the final decision. The selection process usually ends in March.

  • The final selection interview for 2010-12 applicants will be held on 22 April 2010.

Candidates must be able to participate in all the selection rounds. Selected students embark on their UWC journey at the end of August or early September.
